Oswego
Hamilton Homes Phase II is the second of three phases for the redevelopment of a
failing public housing apartment complex in the City of Oswego known as Hamilton
Homes. Not only will the completion of the redevelopment preserve the only
affordable housing stock in the area, but it will also revitalize the community
with its refreshing aesthetics and professional property management.
The
Oswego Hamilton Homes Phase II project is substantially renovating 8 buildings
containing 58 units. The community room will also be expanded in this
phase. The quality renovations will result in 21 1-bedroom, 11 2-bedroom and 17
3-bedroom, 8 4-bedroom and 1 5-bedroom housing units. These units will be
rehabilitated under the Green Building and Energy Efficiency Initiatives. The
announcement that central air conditioning will be incorporated in all buildings
was received by the current residents with overwhelming joy. Preference in
tenant selection will be first to families that required relocation, and to
tenants from public housing waiting lists. It will also incorporate 11 units
reserved for special needs population with 9 of those units having an agreement
for services for those households. The project will remain affordable for 50
years.
