Governor Cuomo today announced awards for NYS funding. I am pleased to report Housing Visions has been awarded funding for both of the following projects that were submitted:
1) S.E. Payne Cornerstone – Demolition of 11 blighted and deteriorated buildings, the rehabilitation of 12 units, and the new construction of 23 units in the City of Auburn. This project is in partnership with Home HeadQuarters and will supplement our current Auburn project, providing space for the management of the properties directly in that area.
2) VanKeuren Square – New construction of 50 supportive rental units for homeless persons and families in Syracuse. This project is specific to the Veteran population, located at 2223 E Genesee St, with on site management by Housing Visions and services by the Syracuse VA. It is demolition and new construction of one large building. The project does require an additional funding award which is in partnership with this award.
Many thanks go to the Development Team and all who helped them put these two fabulous projects together under an extraordinary deadline. The rapid submission and award of these projects are an indication of the great work Housing Visions does and can continue to do.
