The award, created by HCR to honor exceptional examples of residential design in affordable housing, was presented to Housing Visions Consultants, Inc. and Alestalo & Etzel Architects of Syracuse at an awards ceremony in Albany on April 17th.
Prospect Hill Homes, which opened in 2010, was praised by the Awards Committee for its “varied design for each block of buildings, (avoiding) a cookie-cutter look. The use of earth tones in the paint color schemes are attractive and complement the surrounding neighborhood.”
Housing Visions President Kenyon Craig, Vice President Becky Newman and Senior Project Manager Joe Silva accepted the award on Housing Visions Consultants’ behalf.
“I was honored and humbled to have taken part in the HCR Awards ceremony,” said Silva, who worked on the Prospect Hill project. “I was very pleased that Housing Visions was selected to be one of the first recipients of this award. It’s a great honor for our company. We have set a standard that other organizations will have to meet.”
