Lockport, NY – An 18-month development initiated by Housing Visions and several local organizations to revitalize Genesee Street culminates this afternoon with a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion Lockport Canal Homes.
The ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m. at Lockport First Baptist Church, 140 Genesee Street, and continues with the official dedication of Lockport Canal Homes in front of one of its new units.
Lockport Canal Homes consists of nine newly-constructed buildings, providing high-quality and affordable rental housing units for 30 local families. The redevelopment was made possible through collaboration between Housing Visions, YWCA of Niagara, Lockport Neighborhood Revitalization and the City of Lockport.
Funding for the project was made possible through the efforts of NYS Homes & Community Renewal, Enterprise Community Investment, Inc., NYS Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance and the City of Lockport. Construction financing was provided through KeyBank, N.A.
